It is going to be a ghoulish time in West Kelowna on October 25th and 26th with two fun family Halloween events planned!
For those brave souls, on Saturday there will be a Spooky Swamp Swim at Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre. Here families can enjoy games, yummy treats and for those who dare, a Frankenstein’s Lab! This event runs from 6 pm – 8:30 pm and is $4 per person.
Sunday finds the return of the wildly popular Spooktacular Pumpkin Walk to the Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park, which is part of the Westside Farm Loop. You can participate in this event a few different ways:
- By carving up a pumpkin and bringing it down for judging (drop off is between 3-5pm).
- Coming back between 5 pm and 8 pm to stroll the paths and enjoy the ‘Spooktacularness’ of the century old nut farm light up by pumpkins.
- Getting dress up in your Halloween Costume.
- Casting your vote for the ‘best of’ pumpkins in the Scariest, the Cutest, the Funniest and the Mot Original Pumpkin.
Because this is such a popular event, new this year is the addition of the Pumpkin Shuttle Bus. Park and lock your car at George Pringle Elementary school at 3770 Elliott Rd and approximately every half an hour starting at 4:30 a decorated bus will shuttle you to the park and make a return to trip to the school with the last shuttle leaving at 8:30. For those shuttle riders, Halloween goodie bags will be handed out to children riding the bus. Traffic control attendants will also be at the Nut Farm to direct people to the designated parking area.
