Harvest along the Westside Wine Trail
Harvest is an exciting time long the wine trail. The vineyards and crush pads are bustling with activity, visitors gather in the winery tasting rooms and there is an energy in the air that infectious and invigorating.
It is the time of year when the mornings are crisp and the afternoons are warm with the golden Okanagan sun. The lure of the beauty of wine country is real. This is when the vineyards put on a show with their deep rich jewel tone colours of greens, yellows and purples.
What is also very real is the work. The hard work of the harvest – from picking grapes and the crush to working in the cellar. The days are long for all involved, but there is much excitement and anticipate of what the vintage will bring.
This year the harvest began early, the earliest ever for some wineries, due to the hot and dry conditions that the vineyards experienced in the early spring.
Below are some pictures of #harvest2016 which is now underway. Enjoy and we hope to see you soon!
