Powers Creed Dawn Ride, October 2013

POWERS CREEK MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS

Duration/Distance: various routes; 2 to 8 km

Elevation Gain: up to 600 metres

Difficulty Level: difficult

Access Points: From Hwy 97 turn onto Glenrosa Road. This is the same road that heads out towards Crystal Mountain. You will pass Telemark cross country ski area and rather than continuing towards Crystal Mountain, you will turn right onto Jack Pine Lake Forest Service Road. This road is unpaved. You will see two different drop-in points – one 0.5 km after the turn and one 2.5 km in. If you are doing a shuttle, pick-up points will be at the end of Webber Rd or Blue Jay Dr.

About this Trail: This trail is full of stunts and is best suited for the moderately advanced mountain biker. It is well used and as the summer heats up the trail can become loose and very dusty. If starting from the drop-in point that is at the 2.5 km mark, the trails splits in two – on the left is the Spiro trail which is longer and includes a suspension bridge and on the right is the Stinky Pinky trail which is shorter, has more flow and a challenging spiral ramp.

CAUTION: These trails are shared by hikers and mountain bikers. Take care to avoid causing erosion or contaminating the Powers Creek watercourse – it is an important source of public water supply.

Features: wooden stunts, mid-sized jumps, suspension bridge
