Sports & Recreation in West Kelowna
No matter what the season, West Kelowna has some recreational activities for you. From Boating and Golfing to skiing and snowshoeing.
Vacations don’t always have to be about relaxing. If you are the active type and constantly in motion we have some recreational options that can be done on land or water. For land lovers hitting the links for a game of golf, running along the lakefront, taking up some tennis or hitting the hills with some skiing or snowshoeing are just a few options to keep the body healthy and active.
If you are game for water sports, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, wakeboarding, tubing and standup paddleboarding are all enjoyed along the lakefront.
With Lake Okanagan at our doorstep there are several ways to cool down and have some fun on the water. Bring your own water toys or stop by Okanagan Water Sports down at the Cove Lakeside Resort, where you can rent everything from kayaks, boats, sea-doos and SUPs by the hour or by the day!
Exploring Lake Okanagan can easily be done by kayak or canoe. With several lakefront parks along the waterfront in West Kelowna, rest sports, picnic areas, swim spots and wildlife abound. The vineyard views from the lake are beautiful, so don’t forget your camera!
With three boat launches serving the community, it will not take long to enjoy the thrill of the open water. Whether it is tubing, wakeboarding, water skiing or jumping into the middle of the lake off the end of your boat, the deep blue water are calling you.

With the snowflakes start to appear, the outdoor enthusiasts start to cheer! Our powder filled valleys and mountains beckon snowboarders, skaters, skiers and snowshoers to come out and play.
Skiing/Snowboarding/Cross Country Skiing
At Crystal Mountain and Telemark Cross Country Ski area, it is about relaxing, having fun and being close to nature. You won’t find the hustle and bustle of high-end ski resorts here. Located just 20 minutes from Westbank Centre, you can spend more time hitting the slopes and trails and less time in your car getting there.
Hit the trails with some snowshoes strapped on. It is a great way to gain access to beautiful winter wonderland sites. Snowshoeing is gaining in popularity with some of the best snowshoe trails in the Okanagan being found at Telemark.

Winter just wouldn’t be winter without a little ice skating. Head to the local skating rinks of Jim Lind Area or Royal LePage Place and enjoy family skate time or when the weather is cold enough Shannon Lake is a popular spot for outdoor ice skating. Just watch out for the ice fishermen!

For some, an early morning round of golf is all they need for the perfect vacation. Challenge yourself on the Les Furber designed course at Two Eagles where there are rolling hills and lake views or golf next to the towering pine trees surrounding Shannon Lake Golf Club on their full length championship course.
For those who want to perfect their swing there are a few options to be found. The driving range at Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy offers shelter from the sun and rain, while 19 Greens has an 18 hole natural grass putting course as well as an AstroTurf mini golf course.
