Winter Fun

When the snowflakes start to appear, the outdoor enthusiasts start to cheer! Our powder filled valleys and mountains beckon snowboarders, skaters, skiers and snowshoers to come out and play.

Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

At Telemark Cross Country Ski area, it is about relaxing, having fun and being close to nature. Located just 20 minutes from Westbank Centre, you can spend more time hitting the slopes and trails and less time in your car getting there. Not into cross country skiing? Then hit the trails with some snowshoes strapped on. It is a great way to gain access to beautiful winter wonderland sites.

Ice Skating

Winter just wouldn’t be winter without a little ice skating. Head to the local skating rinks of Jim Lind Arena or Royal LePage Place and enjoy family skate time or when the weather is cold enough Shannon Lake is a popular spot for outdoor ice skating. Just watch out for the ice fishermen!

West Kelowna Warriors

See the hockey stars of tomorrow at one of the BCHL hockey games that the West Kelowna Warriors play in. If the roar of the crowd doesn’t get you fired up, the spirited play of these junior hockey players surely will!

Winter Sips

Whether you enjoy wine, beer or spirits, there is a sip for you! Many of our tasting rooms are open during the season with cozy fireside tastings.

Winter Hiking

Hiking can be enjoyed year-round in the Okanagan. Popular winter hikes include Glen Canyon Regional Park, Kalamoir Regional Park and Bear Creek Provincial Park. During the winter, the parks are usually open dawn to dusks and it should be noted that parking lot space can be limited due to limited maintenance from November to March.
