34th Annual Kelowna Apple Loppet

The 34th Annual Kelowna Apple Loppet will be held at Telemark Nordic Club on January 11th.

Mass Start by age categories beginning at 10AM – Registration Info

 30km relay and individual skiathlon with two uniquely timed sections: fasted hill climb and fastest downhill.

Aid stations at 7.5km

Post-race lunch for all registered racers

Participants can ski our 30km Loppet as a two-person relay or as an individual. The classic leg is 2 laps of the 7.5km Telemark trail, and the free technique leg is 1 lap of 15km of the Fern Creek trail.

In the relay the first person skis 15km classic technique, tagging off to a second person who skis 15km free technique. In the individual skiathlon, the participant skis 15km classic, transitioning in the stadium to change equipment, then skiing 15km free technique.

All youth categories, ages 17 and under, plus the recreational category ski classic technique.

10:00 AM Ages 8 to 11 – 3.0 km Classic Technique 10:05 AM Ages 7 & under – 1.5 km Classic Technique

10:07 AM Ages 3 & 4 Bunnies – 200 meters around stadium

10:30 AM Mass Start of Ski 30km and 7.5km Skiers ▪ Skiathlon ▪ Relay ▪ Recreational Event (7.5km) ▪ Ages 16-17 (7.5 km)

10:35 AM Ages 12 to 15 – 6.0 km (2 x 3.0km) Classic Technique

10:40am Special Olympics 3.0km

11:30 PM Course Closes

Post-race: Complimentary Lunch for All Racers & Volunteers

12:30pm -1:00pm Awards for 30KM relay and skiathlon categories (All skiers 15 and under receive a finisher award)
