Perfect Walk Productions presents the next Singer-Songwriter Sessions at Crown & Thieves, bringing Chris Buck, Matt Wagner of Hometown Famous, and Jese Lawrence together at the Broken Hearts Club Speakeasy.

With a Gold-certified hit, national radio success and multiple country music awards, Chris Buck joins two distinctive BC songwriters for an evening that brings you closer to the music. Sharing the stage in a songwriter-round format, the artists take turns performing, telling stories and offering a personal look at the inspiration behind their songs.

From Nashville – locally based Canadian country artist Chris Buck has built a career spanning five Top 40 radio hits, two CCMA nominations and performances on some of Canada’s biggest festival stages. His Gold-certified single “That’s When You Know,” featuring Kira Isabella, introduced countless listeners to his heartfelt songwriting.

Recognized as the 2023 BC Country Music Association Male Artist of the Year, with Album of the Year honors that same year, Chris combines raw country soul with a gritty, ’90s-inspired sound. From Boots & Hearts to the Calgary Stampede, he’s connected with audiences across the country. This intimate setting offers a chance to hear the stories and personality behind the songs.

Matt Wagner | Hometown Famous

Rooted in the Okanagan Valley, singer-songwriter and producer Matt Ryan Wagner is the voice behind Hometown Famous, pairing farm-raised grit with country-rock energy and modern production.

Trained as a recording engineer and producer at Ontario’s Metalworks Institute, Matt brings both a performer’s spirit and a producer’s ear to his music. Now working with award-winning producer Jeff Johnson, he’s entering an exciting new chapter. His latest releases, “I Can Catch A Fish” and “Steer Around The Truth,” offer a taste of the personality and country storytelling he brings to the stage.

Jese Lawrence

Jese Lawrence is a BC-based singer-songwriter blending gritty country, Americana and folk with soulful vocals and honest storytelling. Drawing from his small-town roots, life experience and love of the outdoors, Jese writes songs that feel raw, familiar and lived-in.

His sound sits between outlaw country and modern Americana, with influences including Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton, the Red Clay Strays and Turnpike Troubadours. With a voice that draws you in and lyrics that connect, Jese brings heart and depth to this shared evening of music.

An evening with room for the unexpected

Our Singer-Songwriter Sessions have a way of creating moments that stay with you. Past shows have brought special guests, romantic anniversary gestures, birthday surprises, heartfelt stories and plenty of laughter. Each evening takes on a personality of its own, shaped by the artists and everyone in the room.

These sessions also give artists the freedom to try out new music, revisit old favorite’s and share personally meaningful covers. You might hear a song you already love, discover a new favorite or catch an unexpected moment between performers.

This is a listening-room experience. Come ready to settle in, save conversations for the breaks and enjoy an intimate evening of music and stories.

Doors at 7:00pm – Show at 8:00pm. Cocktails, wine, beer, cider, and non-alc beverages are available for purchase.

Seating for events in the speakeasy is preassigned, not first come first served. If you would like to be seated with a group that purchased tickets separately, please include their name in the order form.
