This fall, your business has two fantastic opportunities to engage with the community and attract new customers. From Country Music Week to Culture Days, you can get involved and be a part of these exciting celebrations!
Country Music Week | September 10 – 13
The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards will be coming to Kelowna this fall! From September 10 – 13, the area will host Canada’s top country musicians, singers, songwriters, and producers, who will gather to celebrate the country music scene in Canada. The City of Kelowna and Tourism Kelowna have worked hard to bring Country Music Week to the Okanagan, and there are many several ways for your business to get involved.
The Westside Wine Trail and Visit Westside have teamed up to create an event planning deck that includes links to official sources, materials from Tourism Kelowna, and inspiration for how your business can participate (scroll down to see the deck).
The City of West Kelowna is also getting into the country music spirit that week by hosting a Line Dancing Class on September 10. This event is part of their Pop-Ups on the Plaza series and will run from 5:30 – 7:30 pm on the Plaza at City Hall (3731 Old Okanagan Hwy).
We encourage businesses to embrace the spirit of the week by organizing country music-themed events, décor, menus, and more! If you are planning a country-themed event during September 10 – 13, please submit your events to the Tourism Kelowna and Visit Westside event calendars. In the weeks leading up to the CCMA Awards, Visit Westside and the Westside Wine Trail will feature and promote these events.
So, get your cowboy boots and hats ready to embrace a little country spirit that week! Submit your West Kelowna Country Music Week events here.
We ask that you submit your country-themed events by August 25, in order for them to be considered for included in our round up blog posts.
Culture Days | September 19 – October 12
Another opportunity to get involved is through Culture Days, which runs from September 19 – October 12. Culture Days is a collaborative, Canada-wide program aimed at raising awareness, accessibility, participation, exploration, and appreciation of arts and culture. We encourage businesses to submit their events to the Culture Days website (create an account here) as well as to the Visit Westside events calendar. We will use these submissions to create a mini-campaign that will be promoted on our website and social media. Download Culture Day’s ‘Play Your Part’ brochure here.
We ask that you submit your Culture Days events by September 12, in order for them to be considered for inclusion in our round up blog post.
