A Delicious Weekend Ahead

With the weekend upon us and most of those home improvement projects completed, it’s time to start getting out to explore our own backyard and #supportlocal.  To help you out, we’ve curated three delicious ideas to check out this weekend around the Westside.

  1. Restock the Rose! Wineries along the Westside Wine Trail have reopened their retail and tasting rooms with new safety measures in place to ensure that guests and staff have a safe, comfortable, and welcoming experience.   To help manage guests for tastings, wineries are now taking reservations for tasting experiences.   While it’s a bit of a shift from what we’re used to, a quick call to reserve your spot means you and your small group are guaranteed to enjoy some of the great new vintages.  For more information on tasting room hours and contact information, visit our friends at the Westside Wine Trail.
  2. Tired of Take-out? The majority of restaurants on the Westside have reopened their doors in the last week to welcome their guests back.  Like our wineries, they have new safety measures in place to ensure that guests and staff have a safe, comfortable, and welcoming experience.  Now’s a great time to return to your regular place for an enjoyable night out and your favourite dish.  Restaurant dining rooms are limited 50% capacity to help provide social distancing so reservations are encouraged.  Find out more about the status of your favourite restaurant on our business page.
  3. It’s Rhubarb & Strawberry Season! The beginning of June each year marks the start of available local produce – typically beginning with strawberries and rhubarb.  Pies, muffins, crisps, cake, and 30 more recipes can be found to help inspire you in the kitchen this weekend.   You can find a range of locally grown produce and products at Paynter’s Fruit Market’s online store with more products added each week.  Order online and pick-up on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings at the fruit stand.

Have a delicious and local Westside weekend!
