First Snowfall of 2017
When looking outside, it is really hard to believe that it is the beginning of November! Here in the Okanagan, we are used to spending this time of month, traipsing through piles of leaves, exploring a few trails, capturing the brilliant fall colours and gathering the last of the vegetables, herbs and fruits before the cold hits.
This year Mother Nature hit us with a surprise, a big white surprise. According to Castanet.net the last time the snow hit the valley this early was in 2006 when 5cm of snow was recorded at the airport. This year the load has been a bit more, with parts of West Kelowna being turned into a complete winter wonderland with 20cm of snow.
Here are a few pictures that some winter lovin’ souls captured over the past view days. We think that Instagrammer @KarenlWiebe put it best, “Winter arrived before Fall was over!”.
Thanks for using #VisitWestside or tagging us in your photos, as we love seeing them!
